OPV for the Maritime Border Guard Unit of the Republic of Poland
On October 12, 2023, in Gdańsk, Deputy Minister Błażej Poboży participated in the ceremony of handing over a new floating unit SG-301 to the Border Guard. This is a full-sea patrol unit OPV that will assist the officers of the Maritime Border Guard in their daily duties. The event was also attended by the Speaker of the Polish Parliament Elżbieta Witek and the Chief Commander of the Border Guard Brigadier General Tomasz Praga.
The value of the contract for the construction and delivery of the OPV is nearly 111 million PLN. The patrol vessel is being built on a "design and build" basis.
The overall length of the new patrol vessel is approximately 70 meters, the hull draft is about 3 meters, and the width is about 11 meters. The maximum speed is set at 19 knots, with a minimum range of 2600 nautical miles at an economic speed of 9 knots. The unit will be equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system with an exhaust cleaning system.
